Full Bloom Renga - Full Bloom Festival Spring 2010 I was commissioned by the National Trust to create participative events as part of the new Full Bloom Festival - celebrating orchards and the movement of blossom up the country. I created two live collaborative poetry happenings at Cotehele, Cornwall and two weeks later in Acorn Bank, Penrith on a custom designed renga platform created by Jo Salter. The renga is based on the 1000 year old Japanese participatory writing form. During the two weeks of the festival an online renga was created with different themes posted online each day. Submissions were received from across the planet. The three poems were stitched together to form a 36 verse festival renga. The renga score was created in collaboration with Paul Conneally and Alec Finlay See www.orchardnetwork.org.uk/renga for more info and to see and hear the poem.
Field Sensing FIeld Sensing is an ongoing series of guided walks and movement improvisations responding to particular locations. This includes a commission from Bosarts in August 2009 to create a participatory field sensing event on both days as part of the project This Weekend....? This took place on Rough Tor, Bodmin Moor in collaboration with Peter Herring (archaelogist - English Heritage), Jo Salter (photography) and the National Trust .
