ear to the ground
Miriam Keye

what constitutes as ground?
what do i hear through the ear to the ground and what do i hear through the ear to the sky?
can i separate the two?
water rushing, swelling, tickling, teasing
a multitude of layers falling over and around each other-
as they enter my ear to the ground, through the density of rock, pouring over it from the bottom up
as they enter my ear to the sky with a lighter, more breezey tickle
i am so comfortable here, eyes closed, wondering when the sea will rise to cover me with it's frothy, warm quilt, filling my bones from toes to skull
