ear
to the ground
Miriam Keye

what
constitutes as ground?
what
do i hear through the ear to the ground and what do i hear through
the ear to the sky?
can i separate the two?
water
rushing, swelling, tickling, teasing
a multitude of layers falling over and around each other-
as they enter my ear to the ground, through the density of rock, pouring
over it from the bottom up
as they enter my ear to the sky with a lighter, more breezey tickle
i am so comfortable here, eyes closed, wondering when the sea will
rise to cover me with it's frothy, warm quilt, filling my bones from
toes to skull
my ear to the ground took place by the sound of bute, in tighnabruich,
